4 Years Ago Today...

I married the woman of my dreams.

She has made my world so vibrant.
She has encouraged me.
She has made me a better person.
She has changed my life.
She has given me a little boy.
She has supported me in my life, ministry, and pursuit of Jesus!

She is my life. My heartbeat. My best friend.
My Angel.

Today, we get to hang out with just us. Having fun... making memories...
I love you Mia Claire!

message prep...

so I am just finishing up my message preparations for the last Sunday in our INKED series downtown.

I am contemplating this question:

Why are most people so turned off when they find out that we follow Jesus? Why is it that so much of our society claims to be accepting and open to "all" world "religions" and beliefs, but end up being truly intolerant to Christianity? Is there any other thing in this world that people get so ticked off at when they hear just the word?

2 Corinthians 2:14 says that we are on display for Christ. What if our lives were so covered by the mark of God on our lives that it didn't matter the "national opinion" of believers, but that the people in our community saw it as something that was positive? What if WE could be the ab-norm?

my passion is that people see Me... Us... Lifepoint... as living letters carrying the ink of Jesus on our hearts. what do you think?

join the conversation.

so we are in the middle of our One Month to Live series at our Chancellor campus. we have really been going hard to get people to ask this question. "what would you do if you only had one month to live?"

so we decided to ask the people in our community what they would say.
1. it was raw, honest, and open.
2. it reminded us of how dark our community is.
3. it was great for our people to see others in their very own community.

we will also be showing one this coming Sunday but you dont get to see that one yet...

UNITE:UMW UPDATE

SO... it took me a few days to recover and get this update on the blog from Sunday night!

Here is a run down update from Sunday:
* it was an amazing evening of great worship, rockin tunes, and the beginning of God working on the campus of UMW.
* this was the first time to our knowledge that a church has ever met on the campus of UMW!
* we had a great turnout for our first time on campus.
* none of our production planning really happened the way we had planned but everything went very smoothly!
* there were DEFINITELY students at UNITE UMW that would never step foot into a church
* we got a ton of positive feedback from students and community guests
* It was so awesome to minister together with my beautiful Mia!

* Liz from The Gathering Club put in a tremendous amount of effort to make this event a possibility!
* Taja Winston did an amazing job on her Spoken Word original poetry!
* The UMW Breakers break dancing club killed it - wish I could do that...

* I don't know what it will look like as we move forward but I do know that the door has been opened.

* Many volunteers put in a very long day to make this happen, several of which setup at our Chancellor campus.
* Thanks to the following attack-anything-and-make-it-happen-no-matter-the-cost-volunteers:
Phil "The Machine" Green, Mike Cairns, Willie Rowe, Becca Rowe, David "CPap" Gregory, Chris Gregory, Joanne Duncan, Kristen Schlee, many from our Chancellor Campus Band, and our normal Downtown Crew! I can't thank you enough for the effort you gave!

Here are some pics...

just one of the perks...

of busting your butt every single week to pull the trailers of gear to make Lifepoint Church happen.

Our elite-trailer-pulling-volunteers at both campuses will be given these shirts next month!
