We had a great week! Happy Thanksgiving to all! I'll give you the blow by blow...
Thanksgiving was great! We ate two dinners - one with my family, and one with Mia's. Don't ever try this at home! Its painful. My brother Ben fried an additional turkey at my parents. Very juicy...
This picture was taken from the back door of our home. This little footprint was captured in time and has been there ever since we moved in. It was a little sign from God that our little one is on the way soon. We can't wait to meet him!
Mia's brother Ben got shrink wrapped after we packed the pod...
Packing the pod went extremely fast thanks to our family, some of my old friends from Swift Creek, and some of my new friends from Lifepoint!
This was our last picture taken at our home today... we will miss that house. God has been very good to us...
Now we can begin to grow roots in Fredericksburg!
Post Your Comments:
oh vacation... driving, moving, packing, fixing stuff, spending money... oh vacation.
Mia and I are in Richmond for the week to:
1. Celebrate Thanksgiving with our parents
2. Pack, fix stuff, and clean our house that closes on the 29th.
So far my "vacation" has me in some mild back pain and discomfort thinking... it sure is expensive to sell a house. Its been a long day of fixing and repairing stuff from our home inspection list. I'm not complaining... God has been so good to us allowing us to sell our home in this market as quick as we did! We also found a place to live in Fredericksburg. We move in - in December!
Today, we both have been thinking - "WE CANT WAIT TO MEET CAEDMON!!!!!!!!!" Almost 8 months along now. I'll be honest with you - I thank Mia every day for carrying him. I sure couldn't do what she does!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Another reason of why we do what we do...
Taken from an email I received today. One of our volunteers works at the school where Lifepoint Church meets.
"...One of the teachers here at Parkside stopped me earlier this morning to tell me that she has attended a few times and that she just LOVES it! She was a little bit worried about her kindergartner adjusting, but she is sure that her little one will love Kidspoint as much as she loves Lifepoint. What a great thing to be thankful for! People come into our church and want to come back because of the inviting atmosphere and the joy that they see in others. I did pray that God would double our volunteers just as Josh recommended last week, and I do believe that this person would gladly serve in our ministry too. Isn't it great to a part of God's work?..."
OK... so I had this dream last night. I am warning you... it is pretty ridiculous! We all have completely weird dreams at times so there is no need to think less of me... so what I am asking you to do is interpret for me in the comments section.
Mia and I were somewhere in a tropical climate. There was a beach but out over the water were different types of trees and large bushes. I think we were with some kind of scientist. There was a kitchen around the side of the beach and some ladies from Lifepoint were cooking some food! So we were out over the water and saw an extremely large animal hovering directly under the water with its face up toward the tree/bush ready for something to eat (or kill!). I just remember us thinking this is the most amazing find ever. We then learned that the scientist had successfully mated the Orca Whale (Killer Whale) with pandas. If you could picture this animal it looked exactly like the two other animals...
I remember thinking, "this is one crazy animal..." the funny thing was it didn't matter that we were all WALKING OUT ON the water trying to observe them... CRAZY.
OK... interpret!
This past weekend was a blur. Following a busy week, we drove back to Richmond to continue packing our house for closing on the 29th. We did get a lot done thanks to the help of Pastor Daniel and Tammie. Thanks to them, we were able to get almost everything finished. Tammie helped Mia with boxes and Pastor Daniel helped me with the manly stuff... fixing the punch list from our home inspection.
FYI - We will be loading the POD on Saturday, November 25. We could definitely use your help.
PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU CAN HELP US!
Yesterday's services were anointed of the Lord! It seemed as if yesterday mornings worship was heaven sent. I could feel the presence of God come over our people in a powerful way. The entire service was wrapped around the idea that sometimes life and truth collide, but maybe God is preparing us for a greater destiny... more on that in future posts. Last night's Downtown Campus went awesome as well. Every week now, young professionals and college students pack the room in worship and Pastor Daniel speaks truth into their lives. I wish I had something this powerful when I was in college!
The outcome of this week is yet to be determined. I am preparing my heart and mind for God to use me; to use Lifepoint; for us to move forward together knowing that we are called to a great mission. We have a greater destiny. As we move into the later part of the week, let us all remember to give great thanks to our great God!
Peace.
