where the echoes stop...

Where the Echoes Stop

by Erwin Raphael McManus

I want to stand where the echoes stop.
Far past where sound has abandoned thought.
Where silence reigns over redundancy.
Where once well said is more than enough.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.
Where words must be born to be heard.
Where speech is a gift and not a curse.
Where there is more of the unique and less of the mundane.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.
Where meaning is rescued from noise…
Where conviction replaces thoughtless repetition…
Where what everyone is saying surrenders to what needs to be said.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.
Where the shouting of the masses falls silent to the whisper of the one…
Where the voice of the majority submits to the voice of reason…
Where “they” do not exist; but “we” do.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.
Where substance overthrows the superficial…
Where courage conquers compliance and conformity…
Where words do not travel farther than the person who speaks them.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.
Where I only say what I believe.
Where I only repeat what changes me.
Where empty words finally rest in peace.

I want to stand where the echoes stop.

“Be still and know that I am God…” -Psalm 46:10a

a huge win for Lifepoint volunteers...

Well done Lifepoint volunteers! I just wanted to say thank you AGAIN for the tremendous work you did on Saturday at the Egg Drop!

I met with the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds manager again today! I wanted to communicate a few things he said to me... all of which were amazing and a representation of our volunteers at Lifepoint!

Some of what he said:
* "I have never had an event leave the Fairgrounds so clean!"
* "The fairgrounds was in better shape after your event than before your event!"
* "Your parking team did an absolutely amazing job! They were better than the parking team we contract for the Fredericksburg Fair!"
* "People have been asking me why we don't do more family events like this on a regular basis"
* "Maybe we can form a joint-venture on doing more community events like this for our community!"
* "You guys had a ton of amazing volunteers!"
* "great job Lifepoint. Do you want us to put you on the calendar for next year?"

These are all his words! Well done Lifepoint! You make us all so proud to be on the team!

creative chaos...

so today I continue this series of Thursday posts with one of my latest designs. I have been wanting to post these pictures for two weeks now but have been super busy with the Egg Drop.

Two Sundays ago, Kidspoint launched with their grand opening and new look! This one was a joint venture. Ben Weiss one of my good friends and new Kidspoint Director, came up with the idea's for the design and I brought his ideas to life with the designs...

enjoy these pics and some of the coolest volunteers. Lesson - never let portability be an excuse for not dreaming big!

today I am back in the saddle after two days away from the office! i really enjoyed my time off, but I must say I am glad to be back!

It was an awesome two days of hanging out with Mia and Caedmon!
* Slept in both days!
* Drove to Alexandria
* Bought some new furniture (currently using my bachelor black leather!)
* Watched LOST on DVD, season 1 (yes, we are a bit slow!)
* Got the Xterra serviced
* Went to the Mall
* Ate out both days!
* Fell in love with Mia all over again!
* Did I mention got to rest?

Egg Drop Update...

Internet was down last night so no update...

What an amazing day yesterday! God gave us amazing weather! First off I want to say thank you to our hundreds of volunteers that made this event take place!

We had a capacity crowd at around 10,000 people! The fairgrounds wouldn't hold any more people! Unfortunately, so many people were not aloud into the fairgrounds because the fire marshall and police department shut the gates!

We made both the Freelance Star and the WASHINGTON POST!

God was glorified by everything that happened! Amazing! I was blown away!

Here are some pics by our team of photographers...

will you worship HIM with me tonight?

T Minus 18 Hours...

After months of planning we come to this. We are standing on the brink of offering what could be the largest outreach endeavor that Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg have ever seen!

Tomorrow at noon we will begin loving on our community! tomorrow at noon we will begin putting smiles of the faces of families who haven't had smiles in a long time. tomorrow at noon we will minister to thousands of private stories that won't come out into the open, but will be ministered to through the practical way in which we will share the Love of Jesus!

All of the months of planning are over. All of the meetings are over. all of the errands are finished. All of the emails, insurance policies, sleepless nights, last-minute un-forseens, getting ready - all finished.

Now we wait and rest. Now we rest knowing that we serve a God who loves us so much and is going to allow us to share the love of Jesus to people who are far from God so they can in turn experience God's design for their lives! This moment for me is almost surreal. I've never been a part of anything this large. I am humbled that God would allow me and hundreds of volunteers to be a part of advancing HIS kingdom!

GOD MAY YOU BE GLORIFIED IN AND THROUGH US TOMORROW. MAY YOU BRING THE SUNSHINE IN THE SKY AND BRING YOUR HEAVENLY REIGN DOWN UPON US IN FREDERICKSBURG. MAY YOU GIVE US SAFETY! MAY YOU WORK THROUGH US. MAY YOU BE SEEN IN OUR ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING. MAY YOU BE REPRESENTED WELL! MAY YOU USE THIS EASTER EGG DROP TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WHO ARE FAR FROM GOD SO THEY CAN EXPERIENCE YOUR DESIGN FOR THEIR LIVES!
