I used to think pet owners we weird the way they treated their pets - treating them like members of the family - that is, until we got a dog. Oscar is almost four years old. He has been a very healthy and fun dog - and we have always seen him as a member of our family.
Yesterday, he had to have emergency surgery. I was walking out of the house to go to the office when I noticed something weird with his left eye. It was all pussy and swollen - yeah... gross!
He ended up having to have surgery on it to repair his inner eye-lid. So now he is moping around not being his self with that weird cone around his head so he doesn't scratch himself. Poor dog. It cost us a fortune for the surgery since we don't carry pet health insurance... yes they have that.
He is going to live and hopefully will get to keep his eye sight in that eye!
I'm home and alive. My trip home from Canada was long but I finally made it. Yesterday was a good day of ministry.
I hope all of you have a great Memorial Day! Enjoy the freedoms we have in the US. Be thankful that men and women have given their lives for the cause of freedom! Take some time to thank God for it...
If you have a day off today - enjoy it!
so here I am in Chicago waiting for 3 hours to catch my flight to Richmond.
* walked about 3 miles from terminal 3 to terminal 84.
* ate at Chili's for dinner
* watching people from all over the world
* saw a guy with a black PC with a Mac sticker on the back... (it still aint workin bro!)
* trying to figure out which movie to rent on iTunes
* dying to see my family!
so i now begin my trek back down into the U.S. I'm sitting in the Halifax airport waiting for my flight to leave which isn't for another two hours. I then fly into Chicago and wait there for another 3 hours. I won't get back into the Richmond airport until after midnight tonight...
So, I won't be back home until tomorrow. Bummer... can't wait to see my peeps.
so today is my last day in Canada. It has been a great time. However, I can't wait to get home to my family. This morning we will finish our time with the group leaders and show them more of the area.
God has taught me some more lessons about ministry, leadership, and mentoring. I can't wait to begin moving forward with Lifepoint Downtown as we continue reaching the downtown area of Fredericksburg with the good news of Jesus! It's truly life changing!
so today we met Brad, one of the group leaders from Lousianna! Had a great time casting the vision for the project with him and showing him around the community where we will be helping the church plant! I'm tired.
I think i mentioned this before but I have been kind of not feeling well and very tired the entire time I have been here in Canadia...
Tonight it was so cold. Chad the church planter just looked at me and said "you southerners would never make it a day up here in the winter!"
This has been a great week up here for them and me. I cant wait to get back into my community and grow the Church God has given me!
