beginning this sunday...
todays post in creative chaos is this:
our staff had the opportunity today to travel to Charlottesville to attend a Church planters network meeting. Today, we had the opportunity to share our entire church's creative process with other church planters.
We shared our structure and why do things the way we do. We shared the entire process from start to finish about the way we do it.
It was a great meeting. I felt like some people benefited and we were able to be encouraged by what others were doing. For now, I wont share the entire process, but maybe someday soon I will!
Someone was spoken into your lives and ministries and you have grown and learned from them...
Question: how are you returning the favor by multiplying the creative end of the Kingdom?
another episode of our lovely thursday posts...
come take a look inside of my head... just don't get lost!
where do i go to be creative? how do i get inspired to create visual and environmental enhancements to communicating the gospel?
I find ideas in all places. I have found that the best ideas come to my head when i am not thinking for them or trying to create them. I have spent hours before trying to come up with the next design or creative element or idea... only to no avail. however, the idea will come out of nowhere and implementation takes minimal time.
I can't watch a movie in the theater anymore without thinking the whole time about the shots they chose to take or the way the camera saw the foreground or background. i buy dvds more for the bonus materials hoping to find a way inside of the action, rather than for the movie itself!
I would say that things i see influence my design. however, i rarely look at other designs when creating because I want to come up with something fresh the way i see it in my mind...
as with most things in ministry, creativity and design have to happen organically. most of the time the final product is nothing like what i started out to create.
thanks for playing. see you next week. and remember to have your dog or cat... whoops, wrong show!
so today I continue this series of Thursday posts with one of my latest designs. I have been wanting to post these pictures for two weeks now but have been super busy with the Egg Drop.
Two Sundays ago, Kidspoint launched with their grand opening and new look! This one was a joint venture. Ben Weiss one of my good friends and new Kidspoint Director, came up with the idea's for the design and I brought his ideas to life with the designs...
enjoy these pics and some of the coolest volunteers. Lesson - never let portability be an excuse for not dreaming big!
I just added a new link to my Link Love! His name is Pat Gillen. Pat is a rockin church-planter who launches this week down outside of the ATL. Pat is a good friend of mine I met through P2! Sorry this link has taken me so long bro!
Oh yeah... I did Pat's new church logo. I think it looks hot! Pat... great job with the website! It fits beautifully!
