Ministry

partner with us...

I totally believe in networking and partnership within the body of Christ. We can do so much more together than we can by ourselves.

A student that I once had in my ministry said this:

"what makes us different can't possibly be as great as what makes us alike - and that is Jesus living inside of us." So true...

I am asking for you to partner with us in prayer as we partner with other ministries to reach people far from God.

Our downtown campus is in the process of trying to take church onto the campus of Mary Washington University. I was told today that in UMW history no church in Fredericksburg has ever brought church to the students. We are praying for the night of September 14th of next month. We are partnering with The Gathering which is a Christian bible study club on campus, Inner Varsity, as well as our Lifepoint Downtown Club which is in the works. Right now the space we are praying for is open!

Specifics you can pray for.
September 14th 2008
7:00-9:00 PM
The Great Hall on the Campus of Mary Washington to be opened for the Clubs so we can minister along side of them.
Our Lifepoint Downtown Student Club to be approved in the next week
Students lives to be changed
The good news of Jesus to be infused in the student life on campus through The Gathering, IV, and Lifepoint!

Hands held high in prayer - hearts bowing in reverence - minds in awe of our Creator!

never content...

Sunday I took my team to visit Aletheia Church in Harrisonburg, VA. Aletheia is a church that mainly targets the collegiate population surrounding JMU. They have been at it for 7 years now!

I was very excited to take my team to a ministry that is reaching the same demographic as we are. Aaron and his team are committed to evangelizing the college campuses! I have never seen a church attack outright campus evangelism with the same energy as Aletheia. I am looking forward to applying their models of outreach and evangelism to Lifepoint:Downtown and the campus of University of Mary Washington.

Although Brandon, Heather, and I had to come home early, the rest of my team got to talk openly over lunch with their team. Thanks so much to Aletheia for pouring out what they know to us! i am looking forward to continuing a strategic on-going friendship and ministry-partnership with these guys!

We will continue to learn from those who are a step ahead or above where we are today. We will never be content with where we are right now! We will always make strategic trips to learn from others so our ministry can be the best it can be! We will continue to do whatever it takes to reach people who are far from God so they can experience God's design for their lives!

What are you doing to enhance your ministry to advance Gods Kingdom in your community?

why i love my pastor...

so he walks into the office after a meeting...

"he guys, its time to have some fun... whooo hoooo" (with some extra chees'in)

he comes into my office and grabs the truck...

then we all go outside and have some fun - man style!
I needed that... what a great way to have some staff bonding!

creative chaos...

this week's creative chaos:

This past Sunday we did something maybe only a handful of churches have ever done...
We had a spontaneous baptism. We had everything ready: shirts, shorts, underwear, hair product, flip flops, towels, and everything else...

Pastor Daniel preached through the excuses people have for not getting baptized and shot them all down with scripture! 61 People responded and were baptized! That's right you heard me... SIXTY ONE!

So this was also our first week running IMAG. We mixed two camera's and water video elements into the baptisms. Overall it was an amazing day! We wish you all could have been there...

road trip...

tomorrow afternoon after teardown at our Parkside campus, we leave for DRIVE!
About 10 of us are going to Northpoint's conference!

I am really looking forward to a couple days of renewal, rest, and hanging with our staff and some volunteers! The great thing is that Jeremy gets to go with us! Pray for us this week...

Look back each day for an update and pics!

* got to feed people walking through the city on their way somewhere else and expose them to how we roll

* last night was our college students last night with us for the summer... bummer!
