The Trip That Never Was...

So today I packed up an overnight bag, kissed my wife Mia goodbye for the next day and drove to Richmond Airport to fly to Phoenix, AZ. I was supposed to be in Phoenix tomorrow for a leadership meeting for a church-planting missions project I am directing in Canada next summer.

My original schedule included flying out tonight to Phoenix tonight, having an all-day meeting tomorrow and then flying back red-eye tomorrow night.

Well the windy city lives up to its namesake tonight. Apparently there were extremely windy conditions in Chicago tonight delaying all flights. The soonest i would get into Phoenix tomorrow would be at 5 in the afternoon... Not happening! So i called and canceled and drove the hour back north home.

Now I get to see my beautiful wife... enjoy the day at home and ministry tomorrow...
and hopefully watch the INDIANS win tonight. Hopefully they will not choke again!

Open Water

Yesterday, we went about 8 miles off shore fishing near Jupiter Island, Florida. Today is one fishing story we don’t have to lie about!! So here’s the deal… we started off catching small Blue Runner as bait fish. We also caught some Bonita, Amberjack, and Snapper. Then we used the Bonita to catch some deep water monsters. We went off shore to about 220 feet. Today, I caught the biggest fish of my life. Check out this 50 pound Grouper. So yeah… I was thinking I was the man when Mia’s cousin Jesse decides he is going to catch a fish by hand. So we move to another location and he proceeds to let the line out with his bare hands. He then pulls in one of the most Goliath fish I have ever seen – a 150 pound Jewfish. Needless to say, I didn’t catch the biggest of the day.  CLICK ON PICS TO ENLARGE.

Now were off to the next leg of our journey. We're sitting in the airport in Cleveland waiting our flight to Florida. We're spending a few days with Mia's family in West Palm Beach/Jupiter Island. I'm really looking forward to the relaxation by the pool, the off shore fishing, and the seafood! 

Vacation

Finally... I get to take a break from this life of crazyness that has been swallowing me whole. As of today, I haven't had a day off in 19 days! Yikes... that's not at all healthy. I am excited! We are leaving tomorrow for Cleveland, OH where my family is from. We get to go to the Jake to watch my Cleveland Indians play on Sunday. Monday, we fly to West Palm Beach, FL to visit some of Mia's family. I'll catch you up when I get back. Pictures to follow!
